HOT ACCESSORIES

Ok, so some of our clients have been telling us that they are having a hard time embracing the color trend this season. Well how can we blame them? It is still freezing outside and Mother Nature seems to be forgetting it is March and technically Spring! We are still going to urge you all to try adding color to your wardrobes, but if for the moment you are more comfortable in neutrals, blacks and grays then why not try colorizing your accessories?

It has never been easier to find gorgeous bags in bold hues, jewel-toned necklaces, pastel shoes and colorful scarves. If you are feeling the March 2013 blahs, just walk into the accessories department of any department store and you will be transported to a sunnier, Springier place. Here are some of our top, hot picks to keep things bright!

SPRING CLEANING

We don’t really care that there is still a little bit of snow on the ground. And we know the weatherman is predicting a cold week coming up. But ladies and gents, Spring is less than a week away!! So put away your galoshes (or super high, wedge Tory Burch snow boots) and take out your strappy, springy, sexy shoes! Store your Winter coats, sweaters and fur vests in the back of your closets…it is time for Spring!

Now some of you may not rejoice in Spring cleaning the way we do. We love the look of garbage bags filled with clothes to “store”, “donate” and “throw away”. We always talk to our clients about reinventing themselves through fashion and NOW is the time to do just that. Don’t be afraid to get rid of the clothes you haven’t worn in 5 years. Also be brave this season and try new styles and colors. Buy sleek hangers, add new shelves and make your closet your happy place! But before you take a sledgehammer to your wardrobes; here are some Style Duo tips on what to toss and what to keep.

HAPPY SPRING SHOPPING! XO, THE STYLE DUO

HELLO SPRING!

We’ve been hearing about the Spring trends since way back in September. After the NYC Mercedes Benz Spring Fashion shows, we ironically headed into Autumn and Winter dreaming of all things Springy! Thoughts of fun geometrics, tribal prints and fabulous colors like cobalt blue and mint green warmed our souls as we braced ourselves for colder weather. And it seemed like forever until the Spring would actually arrive. Well we wait no more! Spring is just days away and no two fashionistas are happier than The Style Duo.

So here are some fabulous finds that we are coveting right now. Hope it inspires you to do some fun Spring shopping of your own. This is our favorite time of year to clean out our closets and then hit the stores. Why not add some bright colors, great textures and interesting patterns into our wardrobes this year? Now is the time to reinvent ourselves just a little. Happy shopping!

OSCAR NIGHT FASHION RECAP

Oscar night is a fashionista’s Super Bowl and this year celebrities scored high points with their fashion choices. Many stars lit up the red carpet with ensembles that sparkled and shined. We loved Kerry Washington’s coral Miu Miu glowing gown and Naomi Watts’ Miu Miu silver asymmetric futuristic stunner. Another trend that ”blew” on to the red carpet was the color blue. Reese Witherspoon looked amazing post pregnancy in her Louis Vuitton sapphire number and Jennifer Hudson looked fabulously fit in her blue Cavali head turner. And whether you loved it (or hated it) Jennifer Lawrence definitely made a statement in her dramatic, pale, bride-like Dior couture gown. Hollywood glamour was out in full force this year and 2013 Oscar fashions definitely deserve an award all of its own!
